I’m Jason Yan, I began my journey in music at 17, training in both voice and musicianship. I graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in Classical Voice, and have performed on both opera and musical theatre stages. My voice has been recognized by producers and vocal mentors for its tone, control, and expressive quality.
我在17歲開始接觸音樂與聲樂訓練，並畢業於香港浸會大學，主修古典聲樂。曾參與歌劇及音樂劇演出，並獲多位舞台監製及聲樂導師肯定，認為我的聲音具備良好的音色、控制力及表現力。
My training bridges multiple styles. With a strong foundation in classical technique, I further developed my musical theatre approach through studies connected to the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and later expanded into Jazz, R&B, and Soul under instructors with Berklee College of Music backgrounds. This blend of disciplines shapes both my sound and my teaching philosophy today.
我的音樂訓練橫跨多種風格。在穩固的古典聲樂基礎上，我進一步於香港演藝學院相關訓練中深化音樂劇唱法，並師承具 Berklee College of Music 背景的導師，學習 Jazz、R&B 及 Soul。這種跨風格的訓練，塑造了我現今的聲音風格與教學理念。
With over 10 years of teaching experience, I have developed my own vocal approach — combining technique, musicality, and individuality. I work closely with each student’s voice, helping them build control, confidence, and a sound that is truly their own.
Over the years, my students have gone on to become independent artists, with some signing as professional singers under platforms such as ViuTV. I also work with fellow vocal coaches who seek to refine their style, musicality, and teaching approach.
我擁有超過10年教學經驗，並建立出一套屬於自己的聲樂教學方法，融合技巧、音樂性與個人風格，因材施教，協助學生提升聲音控制力、自信心，並發展出屬於自己的聲音特色。
多年來，我的學生當中亦有發展成為獨立歌手，甚至被 ViuTV 簽約成為專業歌手；同時亦有聲樂老師向我學習，進一步提升其歌唱風格與教學能力。
My Personal Story
Beyond private coaching, I’ve also worked extensively in community and educational settings. I served as a vocal coach for an all-boys choir under the Hong Kong Playground Association, leading them in performances and international competitions in Japan. I have also coached the city’s only all-blind a cappella group under the Hong Kong Blind Union, supporting singers in developing both technique and musical expression. In addition, I have led music and personal development programs in various schools, using singing as a tool for confidence, connection, and self-expression.
除了私人教學外，我亦積極參與社區及教育工作。曾於香港小童群益會擔任全男班合唱團聲樂導師，並帶領學生到日本參與比賽及演出；亦曾於香港盲人協會指導全港唯一的全盲無伴奏合唱團，協助團員在聲樂技巧及音樂表達上成長。此外，我亦於不同學校推行音樂及心靈成長課程，透過歌唱培養學生的自信與自我表達能力。
Before turning professional, I was actively involved in competitions, achieving multiple championships — including five consecutive wins in inter-school singing competitions and three consecutive wins at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.
在成為專業音樂人之前，我曾積極參與各類歌唱比賽，並多次獲獎，包括聯校歌唱比賽五年連冠，以及香港校際音樂節三年連冠。

My performance and teaching work spans Hong Kong and the West Coast of Canada, including live performances at venues such as Guilt & Co in Vancouver. I’ve worked with students from diverse backgrounds, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Mexico.
我的演出及教學經驗遍佈香港及加拿大西岸，曾於溫哥華知名音樂場地 Guilt & Co 演出，並教授來自不同地區的學生，包括香港、台灣、菲律賓及墨西哥等。
