Lessons are tailored to each student and may include vocal technique, musicianship, song work and performance skills. Students learn at different rates, and progress depends on factors such as attendance, practice and individual learning needs. No particular result or performance outcome is guaranteed.
Vocal coaching is educational and is not medical diagnosis or treatment. Please stop an exercise if it causes pain or unusual discomfort.
A parent or legal guardian must arrange lessons for a student under 18 and provide accurate contact details.
Payment in full is required before a lesson booking is confirmed. The lesson length, format, time, location or online meeting details, price and currency will be provided before payment.
Please check your booking confirmation carefully, including the date, time and time zone.
Please arrive or join on time and be ready to begin at the scheduled start time.
For online lessons, students must join from a quiet, suitable space, use headphones and keep their camera on during the lesson. Students are responsible for having a working device and a suitable internet connection.
If a student arrives late, the lesson will normally end at the scheduled time. If Jason Yan is late, the lesson time will be extended where practical or another reasonable arrangement will be made.
A parent or legal guardian of a student under 18 must remain contactable throughout the lesson.
For in-person lessons, a parent or guardian may be required to accompany the student or remain nearby, depending on the student’s age and circumstances. For online lessons, a parent or guardian may be asked to join or assist where reasonably needed.
Parents and guardians are welcome to share relevant learning goals or concerns with Jason Yan, while allowing the student appropriate space to participate in the lesson.
Students, parents and Jason Yan are expected to communicate respectfully. Harassment, threats, discriminatory behaviour, inappropriate conduct or repeated disruption are not acceptable.
Jason Yan may pause or end a lesson if someone’s behaviour creates an unsafe or inappropriate learning environment. Any unused prepaid lesson balance will be handled under the applicable cancellation policy and consumer laws.
Lessons are not recorded by default. Students and parents must not record, photograph, livestream or distribute a lesson without prior written agreement from everyone involved.
Permission to record a lesson for learning purposes is separate from permission to publish or use a recording, photograph, name or testimonial for marketing. Marketing use requires separate written consent.
Lesson notes, exercises and other materials supplied by Jason Yan are for the student’s personal learning use. They may not be copied, shared, published, sold or used to teach others without written permission.
Students retain ownership of their own original compositions and materials. Jason Yan will not publish or use a student’s work for promotion without separate written permission.
Please review the Refunds, Cancellations & Rescheduling Policy before booking. It explains the notice required to change a lesson, how lesson transfers work and when a refund may be available.
